Community Midwifery (CMW) Program

The Community Midwifery (CMW) Program is a comprehensive training initiative designed to equip aspiring midwives with the knowledge, skills, and clinical expertise to provide essential maternal and newborn care in community settings.

This program focuses on preparing competent and compassionate midwives who can serve rural and underserved populations, ensuring safe deliveries and promoting women’s health at the grassroots level. Through a blend of classroom instruction, hands-on clinical practice, and community outreach, students learn to manage normal pregnancies, deliveries, and postpartum care, as well as identify and refer complications when necessary.

Program Highlights:

  • In-depth training in antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care
  • Hands-on practice in both institutional and community-based settings
  • Courses in reproductive health, family planning, and health education
  • Supervised clinical rotations in hospitals and rural health centers
  • Emphasis on cultural sensitivity, patient dignity, and safe practices
  • Support for national certification and professional registration

Graduates of the CMW Program play a critical role in improving maternal and child health outcomes, reducing mortality rates, and empowering women through accessible and respectful care.
